Executive Creative Director

 

The Executive Creative Director provides overall creative leadership and strategy for the company to expand and refine the agency’s creative capabilities. Builds and fosters a positive creative environment for the development of the highest quality and most creative output in support of client brands, multi-discipline marketing strategies, and business development efforts.  Manages and leads the development of a team of Creative Directors and other creative staff. Represents the agency as senior creative leader to clients, management, and the industry.

Position Summary

                                                 

The Executive Creative Director provides overall creative leadership and strategy for the company to expand and refine the agency’s creative capabilities. Builds and fosters a positive creative environment for the development of the highest quality and most creative output in support of client brands, multi-discipline marketing strategies, and business development efforts.  Manages and leads the development of a team of Creative Directors and other creative staff. Represents the agency as senior creative leader to clients, management, and the industry.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

Lead Creative function for the agency

  • Lead and inspire creative teams to produce creative solutions from concept to execution ensuring alignment with client objectives
  • Work with Creative Directors and other creative team members to develop and refine creative strategies to achieve or exceed client expectations
  • Use creative expertise to interpret a client's vision and make it a tangible and deliverable product
  • Create optimum structure to provide effective, efficient development of highest quality creative product
  • Lead teams to deliver diverse creative solutions
  • Monitor overall quality of agency creative output and provide direction and leadership
  • Continuously strive to improve communications and processes necessary for optimum creative output
  • Supervise, support, develop, and inspire creative management leaders

Business Development

  • Contribute to planning meetings and/or presentations to clients around strategic and creative decision direction
  • Proven ability to impact business development and growth as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team

Business Collaboration

  • Foster strong, positive, collaborative relationships between creative department and other agency functional areas

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Direct Reports

 Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

 

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

 

 Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job       

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

                                             

Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Advertising, Marketing, Design, Fine Arts and/or Communications or equivalent job-related experience

  • 10+ years of experience in creative leadership; preferably in a retail/integrated agency environment
  • Vast experience in the development of large-scale, 360°, outside-the-box sell-in programs

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to provide cross-functional leadership
  • Ability to direct, lead, coach, and develop people
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make oral presentations
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Team building Skills
  • Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance
  • Conflict management skills
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

Environmental & Physical Requirements

 

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.  A detailed Environmental and Physical Requirements document is available in the Total Rewards department.
