Position Summary

 

The Field Retail Sales Specialist is responsible for all Convenience Store activity located within the designated markets of Florida, Dallas and SO CA (key account management of the accounts specified by the client). This role will be responsible for execution of annual account plans by off premise customer to reflect brand and customer strategies and support the delivery of business goals.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

Execute against annual account plan by off premise customers to reflect DGUSA brand and customer strategies and support the delivery of business goals:

 

Sales

Responsible for selling in programs and distribution to local Independent Convenience retail accounts, which will deliver the volume and profit plan. Develop and maintain store level account relationships. Regularly monitor and communicate performance against display execution and planogram space. Submit to director, proposals relative to business spending ideas that will drive incremental volume. Enhance case volume at store level & Brand distribution points

 

Business Development

Work with distributor sales reps, DM and territory Managers to make local store calls. By market, call on a predetermined hit list of “C Stores” when distributors are not available. In addition, by market, call on a predetermined hit list of 7-Eleven stores when distributors are not available.  Works with/while supporting the DGUSA, Distributor Manager teams who are the key interface with the distributor mid & senior level managers accountable for the sales & execution of the DGUSA portfolio.

 

Decision Making

Anticipates & identifies opportunities or issues that potentially could add value or prevent the business from meeting/exceeding or under delivering against sales objectives.

Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan;

 

Account Management

Achieve annual performance objectives

Provide input to all account specific category management initiatives

Lead the communication process across divisions of national/retail account

Coordinate all account specific activities across Diageo clusters and distributors

GAME planning - deliver against promotional activation, and customer performance (promotion, pricing, brand equity)

This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

 

Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job 

Travel up to   33%

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent experience

 

3 years of experience in a sales environment preferred or equivalent

LDA Experience or Related Preferred

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to build relationships, up, down and sideways with internal and external associates
  • Effective Listening skills
  • Knowledge or experience of merchandising principles
  • Ability to plan and prioritize competing priorities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Apple IPAD 

Environmental & Physical Requirements

 

Field / Reps Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed in a retail in-store environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities:  engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift and/or push up to 74 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use products or cook food as appropriate for the demonstration, and may be required to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections). Also required to travel and drive.  The use of proper safety practices when handling the products and/or cooking is essential.
