The Benefit Manager manages the benefit team, ensuring day to day service is executed within the SLA’s provided to the business. Our Benefits Manager must have a clear bias for action, stellar project management and multi-tasking skills, strong business acumen and a dedication to customer service.

    Position Summary

    The Benefit Manager is responsible for the daily execution, administration, and adherence to compliance of the global benefits programs to include health and welfare, retirement and global mobility, for our 100k associate organization. The Benefit Manager manages the benefit team, ensuring day to day service is executed within the SLA’s provided to the business. Our Benefits Manager must have a clear bias for action, stellar project management and multi-tasking skills, strong business acumen and a dedication to customer service.

     

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Benefit Program Management

    • Manage the day to day operations for all matters related to global health & welfare, retirement programs, global mobility and benefit liaison for M&A.
    • Create standard work, job aides and templates for continued development and process improvements within the team’s current administrative functions.
    • Manage vendors, advisors and brokers to ensure the organization is kept abreast on marketplace norms and compliance requirements.
    • Responsible for ensuring the company is compliant in ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and any other applicable legislation. Manages and conducts weekly, monthly and quarterly benefit audits as well as all year-end audits and testing for the company’s retirement & welfare programs.
    • Responsible for developing and designing benefit/retirement/global mobility communication campaigns and materials, to include print and digital media, as well as project managing all open enrollment(s) and needed projects throughout the year.
    • Serves as the liaison for all benefit/retirement/global mobility related matters for the M&A team. Conducts and designs analysis, trainings, and communications. Ensures all acquisitions are following compliance standards in the areas of oversight.
    • Creates metrics and analytics surrounding the company health and welfare, retirement and relocations programs. Monitoring gaps in performance, budgeting and SLA’s.
    • Develop and design benefit programs in partnership with the benefit broker to support employees and meet the financial objective.
    • Research and evaluate complex human resource and employee benefit issues; develop effective solutions and options; develop costing and implementation proposals.

    Benefit Systems Management

    • Oversee the configuration and data set-up tables of the HR/Payroll system, benefits section, in relation to how these tables affect benefits transactions and employee interfaces.

    • Guide data troubleshooting and audits in the processing or retrieval of employee benefits data in the HR/Payroll system, and vendor systems.

    • Identify necessary changes in business processes to ensure efficient and accurate workflow and the best utilization of system capabilities in order to fit the business needs.

    • Work with ESB and Payroll staff to develop and implement process improvement

    Team Management

    • Provide supervision and leadership to the benefits team. Responsibilities include working closely with team to provide support and direction. Daily supervisory duties include staffing, performance management process, and to conduct and oversee daily work.

    Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

     

    Indirect Reports

    May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

     

    Travel and/or Driving Requirements

     

    Travel is an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is not an essential duty or function of this job. 

    Travel up to 10%

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

     

    Education Level: (Preferred): Bachelor's Degree  in related field or equivalent experience                 

     

    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  

    5-7 years of experience including progressive experience in benefits plan design, management and compliance.

    3-5 years of experience managing others. SPHR, CBP preferred.

     

    Tools/Software: Enterprise software experience such as Oracle, ADP, PeopleSoft/SAP, ect.
    HTML/Adobe/Power Point/Publisher needed
    Strong Excel/Access Database needed

     

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Strong knowledge of fundamental issues surrounding health and welfare, retirement, global mobility programs including financial planning, analysis and compliance.
    • Functional experience in benefit, retirement and global mobility design and administration.
    • Project management experience including strategy development, technology design and leadership skills.
    • Strong bias for action, ensuring customer service is the forefront of all decisions.
    • Train, delegate, coach, motivate and follow up on staff to achieve desired results

     

    Environmental & Physical Requirements

     

    Office / Sedentary Requirements

    Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
