    Canopy Senior Software Engineer


    Canopy, a division of Advantage Solutions, is a suite of digital e-commerce solutions that helps brands understand and quantify the cross-relational impacts of eCommerce Data.


    Canopy is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our talented team focused on next generation technology products and services in the e-commerce space for CPGs working to create R&D solutions. Technical stack: C# .NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, RxJS, and more.  This will require collaborating with team members to build highly scalable desktop and web applications.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead medium-size projects with strict deadlines
    • Design, develop, test, and maintain internal and external web applications
    • Share acquired skills/knowledge with team members and mentor junior engineers as necessary
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot production application issues
    • Document install features for product releases
    • Provide input to senior management on emerging trends
    • Work with business stakeholder to gather requirements and create project plans


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
    • 5+ years’ experience in an enterprise software environment
    • Expert knowledge in .Net OO concepts
    • Expert in .NET Core and ASP.Net MVC
    • Strong understanding of JavaScript, JQuery, Angular, Bootstrap, and SQL
    • Experience with SQL Server. Ability to write Ad-Hoc SQL
    • Expert at Entity Framework (Code First and Database First)
    • Familiar with Agile Development Practices
    • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
    • Analytical approach with strong ability to uncover and solve problems

    Position Summary


    The position of Senior Software Engineer is focused on creating and maintaining MVC web applications built on the .Net stack.  This position requires working with leadership to determine business requirements, develop / test code, and deploy applications. The candidate will interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders and therefore must have outstanding communication skills.  As a senior member of the team the role will require mentoring junior developers and leading medium-sized projects, which will require in-depth technical knowledge of MVC and the .Net framework.


    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities


    Software Development

    • Work independently and in a group environment to deliver solutions according to project deadlines and requirements. 
    • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers and junior developers
    • Lead 2- 5 person medium-sized projects with strict deadlines
    • Ability to develop quick prototypes for business verification

     Team Management

    • Mentor junior developers in .Net best practices, design methodologies, and emerging trends
    • Provide performance review input

    Project Management

    • Participate in planning sessions with customers and internal users to analyze business requirements.
    • Understand functional requirements and provide accurate estimates and timelines based on project resources
    • Work independently and prioritize multiple requests for yourself and junior team members


    • Triage and troubleshoot issues production issues
    • Provide documentation for product releases

    May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience


    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Information Technology

    5+ years of experience in  Software Engineering with experience using .Net


    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Expert knowledge in .Net OO concepts
    • Expert in .NET 4.5/C# and ASP.Net MVC
    • Familiar with Web API and custom MVC routing
    • Exposure to Telerik MVC web controls
    • Strong understanding of JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, and Bootstrap
    • Strong grasp of threading (TPL), generics, LINQ, lambdas, and anonymous objects
    • Experience with SQL Server 2008 R2+ or equivalent.  Ability to write Ad-Hoc SQL
    • Comfortable using Visual Studio 2012/2013
