    Production Artist

The role of the Production Artist is to assist in the creation and revision of digital artwork from the initial phase of collecting materials to the final delivered piece.  The Production Artist will maintain communication with the Production Managers and Senior Production Manager to prioritize work and ensure all client deliverables are met.  The Production Artist has many responsibilities including, but not limited to, preparing layouts for client review, making quick changes to existing layouts through the Change Order process, checking-in and organizing digital assets received from the third parties, trouble-shooting files, pre-flighting materials for print and preparing paste-up boards for client presentation.

    Job Duty

    • Creation of press-ready documents for all types of printed materials.
    • Photo manipulation and color correction in Adobe Photoshop. 
    • Digital Illustration in Adobe Illustrator. 
    • Creation and editing of layouts in Quark Express and Adobe InDesign. 
    • Pre-flighting of client supplied ads, files and documents. 
    • Manual paste-up of comps and other materials for presentations. 
    • Organization of internal FTP site and digital assets.

    Minimum Qualifications


    The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

    Education Level: (Required)      Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience


                           (Preferred)       Choose an item.  or equivalent experience                       


    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Visual communications, Design or related field


    - 1-3 years of experience in an agency, in-house marketing department or pre-press department

    - Prior experience working in and developing database applications


    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
    • Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business environment
    • Team building Skills
    • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
    • Proficient in all standard design software; Quark Express, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

    Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
