Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative concepts and visual designs for various marketing materials, including print ads, social media content, website designs, and branding campaigns.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure that all creative work aligns with the client's brand and marketing goals.
  • Manage and mentor junior designers to ensure their work meets quality standards and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and other team members to develop integrated marketing campaigns that effectively communicate the client's message.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital design trends, software, and technology to ensure that the agency's creative work is fresh, innovative, and effective.
  • Play an active role in strategic brainstorming sessions with Creative and Account leaders offering creative solutions and presenting creative rationale aligned with the client’s/retailer’s objectives

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising or equivalent experience required in the area of Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar industry
  • Excellent sense of design and layout; Ability to conceptualize and strategize on agency initiatives
  • Ability to work within a team environment and have the ability to collaborate and express creative rationale
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer tools (MAC), including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge of production, file preparation, and formatting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$62,000

Position Summary

 

The Art Director’s primary responsibility is to develop creative collateral for Shopper Marketing and Consumer Promotion campaigns by taking a brand concept and turning it into a tangible creative object. Throughout this process, the Art Director is held accountable for maintaining exceptional creative standards across print, collateral, direct mail, ad circulars, and web creative. The Art Director will play an active role in internal and cross-functional brainstorming sessions, so this person must possess a wide range of creative styles and feel comfortable expressing and presenting creative rationale.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Development of creative shopper marketing and consumer promotion materials for agency, Client and New Business initiatives.
  • Maintain the creative direction and expectations for specific projects, ensuring they fit client, brand, retailer, and the overall business objectives, and are cohesive across the entire campaign.
  • Working knowledge of promotional media vendors, as well as the ability to work with a variety of product specifications.
  • Play an active role in strategic brainstorming sessions with Creative and Account leaders offering creative solutions and presenting creative rationale aligned with the client’s/retailer’s objectives.

Other Requirements:

Strong understanding and utilization of proper safety techniques and correct use of equipment when appropriate.

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job 

Travel up to 10% of time on annualized basis

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

 

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree in Advertising or equivalent experience

     

Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or related field.

- 3-5 years of experience in similar industry, with at least 1 year of experience in the arena of marketing promotions, and 2 years of consumer products, media and/or agency experience

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Excellent sense of design and layout.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and have the ability to collaborate and express creative rationale Ability to conceptualize and strategize on agency initiatives.
  • Ability to efficiently utilize computer tools (MAC), including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Acrobat and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Entourage) Working knowledge of production, file preparation and formatting.
  • Self-motivated to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadline (manage time effectively)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail and follow-through.

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
