Summary

Lead Warehouse Receiving

The Warehouse Lead Receiving (WL)is responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum. They will ensure the business runs efficiently by following the existing receiving SOPs to process all inbound materials into our inventory system. This includes but is not limited to unloading pallets from trucks, counting material and verifying counts on client supplied Bills of Lading, processing inbound Purchase Orders in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), printing load tags, inspecting inbound inventory, labeling and consolidating pallets and other administrative tasks which require moderate-level computer skills.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 
Warehouse Operations
• Ensuring Team Members meet deadlines for key projects and tasks
• Address any concerns or issues identified by team members
• Delegating tasks to team members
• Operate a forklift, and other equipment in order to unload trucks, and move and store materials and supplies.
• Check inbound shipments and inspect materials to insure accurate quantity, type, and acceptable quality.
• Count inbound material and reconcile counts against the quantities noted on Bills of Lading and other related paperwork.
• Notify Project Managers when material has been received and request Purchase Orders from that group in order to receive the material in the Warehouse Management System.
• Once inventory has been received in the system, assign a location for the load and prepare and print a load tag for the material.
• Perform put-away of inventory to assigned warehouse location, using handheld device to document the movement.
• enforcing Company policies and procedures related to incoming shipments.
• Check products and equipment for damage
• Return items to vendors when necessary
Record Keeping
• Collect all documents related to a received load; BOLs, count sheets, product photos, PO’s and all other relevant paperwork and scan into the Warehouse Management System daily at end of shift
• Record all movement of materials and put-aways in Warehouse Management System via handheld device

Facility
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free workplace
• Follow all rules related to OSHA and other compliance-related activities
• Report all infractions or observed safety issues to Warehouse Manager
• Perform end-of-shift cleaning as directed by Warehouse Manager

- This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: 

• 1-3 years of shipping/receiving
• 1-3 years of use of computer inventory control systems
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines
• Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to work effectively with management
• Ability to perform the job safely by using safety techniques and practices
• Must be able to read and write English

 

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Non-Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
