Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution and optimization of programmatic campaigns across retail media network platforms.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand objectives and translate them into effective programmatic strategies.
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve ROI and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including analytics, creative, and account management, to ensure seamless campaign execution.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with platform vendors to resolve them promptly.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, sharing best practices and ensuring process adherence.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Expertise in programmatic media buying, retail media networks, and demand-side platforms (DSPs).
  • Familiarity with key performance metrics, including CTR, CPM, ROAS, and conversion rates.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation, targeting techniques, and ad inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret campaign data and optimize strategies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented project management to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Proficiency in programmatic platforms such as The Trade Desk, Google DV360, or similar tools.
  • Certifications in programmatic platforms or advanced training in digital advertising are preferred.

Position Summary

 

The Media Supervisor role is primarily responsible for total media planning (traditional & digital channels) and services on the accounts assigned

to him/her. They supervise Media Associates assigned to those accounts which are the Media Supervisor’s primary responsibility. The have a strong working knowledge of the media space and an ability to lead plan development and provide strategic recommendations to the senior management and/or client. They are also able to lead the setup, execution and reporting on all facets of a plan and present results.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Media Campaign Development & Recommendations (Primary Leader):

  • Work with the Associate Media Director, interpret briefs, ask clarifying questions, coordinate all steps required to piece together media plan/recommendation, and integrate, as necessary, all assigned media activities, including presentation to seamless team leads and the client
  • Work with AMD & Planning team to lead development of target insights, utilizing research tools and resources to aide in planning recommendations and campaign development
    • Lead upfront target and planning research: competitive, Simmons, eMarketer, etc.
  • Assist Associate Media Director & seamless team leads in budget planning & mapping
  • Write the final media plans & presentations, receives approval from senior media management and has ability to present to seamless teams and clients
  • Lead measurement plans in collaboration with Analytics Director, identifying key metrics needed to deliver on goals and that proper tracking is/will be in place
  • Approve associate-led development of media plan flowcharts, media estimates and specs/assets for production and account leads
  • Approve RFP & consideration set proposed by Associates; lead negotiations with sales reps to finalize media plan
  • Provide guidance and approval of social recommendations lead by Associates & Community Managers to ensure plans deliver on client objectives

Setup & Execution:

  • Determine and supervise the best possible implementation of all approved media plans and projects, leading relationships and processes with production, account and dev teams to execute
  • Lead vendor kick off calls, to confirm specs, ensuring detailed campaign goals and timeline needs are accounted for, documented and Associates are providing details to internal teams
    • Monitor Associate-lead vendor communication
  • Maintain strong relationship with seamless team leads by ensuring accurate and detailed information is provided by Associates who are responsible for leading the execution of all approved media plan tactics with internal client teams (especially leading communication with production managers) for full campaign activities
    • Monitor campaign timeline, and ongoing Associate-lead communication with partners and ensure deadlines are met
  • Approve specs document & master timeline for all necessary creative assets and coordinate with internal and client teams with needed deadlines for launch
  • Manage Associates responsible for monitoring and optimization of campaign performance within platforms (Doubleclick, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and with specific media partners
  • Approve any changes to media plan flowcharts, media buy estimates and ensure all seamless team leads are aware of changes to maintain consistency and communication
  • Monitor and assist Associates where needed for all traditional and digital ad operations and trafficking

Reporting (In Collaboration with Analytics, AMD & Seamless team members):

  • Responsible for presenting, leading development and finalizing report presentations with assistance from Associates (who are responsible for gathering data and building deck structure and initial charts/insights)
    • Mid & end of campaign reports (with clear insights and future implications/recommendations that ladder back to client business objectives)
    • Paid social insight reports

Billing:

  • Be the lead who manages client budgets and have ability to lead entire billing process, monitoring and assisting Associates who are ultimately responsible for:
    • Creation of Estimates and IO’s in Company across all clients
    • Billing pacing chart updates across all clients when needed and integrating with the billing department to ensure timely payment and ensure that they are aware of all upcoming campaigns
    • Leading all billing meetings with finance team

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead, delegate and hold team members & direct reports accountable for all media activity by client
  • Assist leadership with providing new, innovative ways of thinking about media, educating and collaborating with seamless team members, acting as a leading and credible resource at the agency
  • Keep up-to-date on all available market and consumer information necessary to the preparation of the most effective and efficient media plans for their set of clients, with ability to provide/lead creation of POVs where opportunities arise
  • Maintain the best possible relationship with clients, seamless teams, and sales reps in order to further mutual interests of the agency and its clients
  • Train associates in proper methods of preparing, evaluating, and implementing media plans as well as setup, execution and reporting
  • Maintain familiarity with the history, present organization, and procedures of the client, as well as, with conditions in the industry
  • Provide an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the planning function
  • Manage media budgets and investment summaries, secures client approval, issues vendor insertion orders
  • Assist in development of media and cross-department processes for department and agency-wide rollout
  • Assist in new business projects/pitches
  • Meet regularly with vendor/technology solutions to stay abreast of industry trends and potential client partnerships

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: (Required):  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
          
Field of Study/Area of Experience:

5+ years of experience in Media at an agency

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of both awareness and performance digital media channels and strategies, including display, mobile, video, paid search, programmatic and social media
• Previous success in the planning, development and management of digital media campaigns for brands or products
• Experience with DoubleClick and other 3rd party tracking solutions preferred
• Experience with the following technology platforms preferred (Self-Serve Programmatic DSPs, DFA, Facebook UI/FBX)
• Ability to analyze data and deeply understanding of measurement practices, 3rd party measurement companies and web analytics
• Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven client service orientation with strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills
• Ability to consistently perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment as an individual on a team
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated interest in keeping up with emerging technologies and digital marketing trends
