About the Director Role:

 

E-commerce is a fast-paced industry, and the only constant is change- we are looking for someone dynamic, curious & confident to join our team as a Director for our Amazon CPG business. This role is responsible for providing strategic, tactical, and operational leadership on the highest levels. Leading a team that is focused on providing Amazon-focused e-commerce strategy and best-in-class execution for many customers including some of the world’s largest consumer packaged goods brands. In a work-from-home environment; teaching, training and the development of all team members are essential to creating a positive culture. Collaboration with other business management & Advantage Unified Commerce teams is crucial for success in this role as our Enterprise approach and breadth of services are key to our approach. In addition to leading the team & client relationships, new business development is a core focus that all leaders actively participate in.

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and drive client growth within existing account portfolio and is responsible for helping achieve the team and division’s annual sales budget via current client growth, new service creation, new business development, etc.
  • Manage, nurture and own key client relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and growth, identify opportunities to upsell and expand services, proactively address client needs, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that drive long-term success building a trust-based partnership with client teams, and agency partners
  • Works directly with managers having regular communication with them to ensure they are driving the business forward and helping them address short- and long-term goals, initiatives & challenges.
  • Understand the needs of clients to ensure the team is consistently meeting and exceeding expectations of relationships, while also understanding our contractual duty.
  • Develop standards, systems, and best practices (using people or technology) to consistently improve upon our ways of working.
  • Innovate upon & improve current offers.
  • Building the formal frameworks and methodologies for key strategic issues both leveraging existing resources and creating new innovative concepts across the organization, ensuring processes are in place.
  • Participate in hiring of business managers & strategic business advisors.
  • Entails managing both accounts and direct reports.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and peers to ensure understanding of key initiatives and results.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities  

  • Must have Amazon Seller Central (5+ years) and Amazon Vendor Central (5+ years) experience

Position Summary

 

The Account Director is responsible for overseeing performance of the Account Services team within Client Services. S/he focuses on achieving key departmental KPIs and success metrics while empowering and encouraging team members to develop innovative strategies for attaining performance. S/he is responsible for analyzing on-going account performance and adjusting priorities, goals, and activities based on results. The Account Director organizes and leads cross-functional teams across a range of high-complexity projects, which may include organizational and process design, departmental roadmap development, business development, and client engagement.

 

The Account Director shares responsibility for the management of the Senior Account Management team. S/he plays a pivotal part in honing each team member’s people management skills and aiding in overall career development. The Account Director oversees team interactions and dynamics of Account Services as a whole, serving as an escalation point for account and team member-related issues, concerns, and suggestions.

 

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fosters a high performance and high-quality environment so Adlucent achieves excellent results for our clients
  • Coaches people managers in Account Services on leading teams effectively while also driving employee engagement
  • Collaborates with the leadership team to develop, track, and achieve departmental goals
  • Oversees department performance as measured against major KPIs and goals; monitors trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities
  • Owns resource allocation and planning decisions for the Account Services team
  • Manages Account Services employee relations, working in conjunction with People & Culture to facilitate teamwork and address questions and conflicts
  • Responsible for Account Services financial management, including client forecasting/projections, budgets, and billing 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

 

Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

 

Education Level: (Required):  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
          

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
7+ years of experience in Account Management

 

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • 7+ years account or management experience in PPC advertising, preferably managing multi-million dollar budget SEM programs through Google AdWords and Bing Ads
  • Proven people manager skills developing employees and optimizing organizational effectiveness, including a minimum of two years building and leading teams
  • Strong track record of delivering outstanding service to clients, both internal and external, as well as business results and ROI
  • Demonstrated ability to improve existing systems and implement new structures to build an effective learning environment
  • Ability to communicate complex data with clarity and simplicity
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Keen eye for excellent client service and account performance

Nice to have:

  • Retail experience, including but not limited to: eCommerce; merchandising and promotions; multi-channel marketing; branding
