Director Workforce Analytics

 

We are seeking a transformational Director of Workforce Analytics & Planning to help revolutionize how we leverage data and analytics to optimize our 70,000-person frontline workforce. This role will help drive the evolution of our analytics function toward predictive analytics and AI-enabled decision making, while building a world-class team of analytics professionals. The ideal candidate will blend deep analytical expertise with strategic business partnership skills to deliver measurable impact in workforce efficiency and effectiveness aligned with key business outcomes.

The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of our workforce analytics transformation strategy
  • Develop innovative approaches to workforce planning and optimization relative to commercial demand (S&OP/forecasting/capacity planning)
  • Lead the design and implementation of analytics processes and tools
  • Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and execute high-value analytics use cases, build and maintain relationships
  • Transform the analytics function from reporting-focused to predictive and prescriptive
  • Develop standards for analytics delivery and business partnership across commercial segments
  • Design scalable analytics architecture and processes and guide the development of advanced analytics solutions and models
  • Manage and organize recurring analytical and reporting responsibilities with functional and cross-functional stakeholders

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience Level: Bachelor’s degree 

10+ years of progressive experience

  • Experience with workforce modeling, forecasting, and optimization (Supply & Operations Planning, Capacity Planning experience a plus)
  • Experience with AI/ML Implementation: building machine learning models for business applications, particularly in areas like attrition prediction, demand forecasting, and resource optimization.
  • Experience with Programming: Strong background in SQL, Python R for statistics and model development, including experience with key data science libraries
  • Advanced Analytics: Expertise in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and optimization techniques for workforce planning and forecasting
  • Analytics Process Design: Creating scalable frameworks for analytics delivery and operations
  • Agile Methodologies: Track record of leading complex analytics initiatives using agile approach
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including complex data modeling, DAX, and enterprise-scale dashboard architecture
  • Data Architecture: Modern data stack architecture, ETL processes, and data lake design principles

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

 

• Ability to transform our analytics and planning capabilities and team from descriptive to predictive and prescriptive
• Establish rigor in operational and innovation frameworks, workflows, and process improvements
• Drive significant workforce cost optimization and increase productivity
• Implement innovative and scaled planning, analytics and BI solutions with strong change management
• Build out analytics team with clear career paths and skill development framework
• Create measurable business value/ROI through data and analytics

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
