Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align accounting practices with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Provide actionable insights through financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Partner with the CAO to drive financial transformation and technology enhancements initiatives. Responsible for ensuring appropriate assessment of key areas of accounting judgment in preparing the Group’s consolidated financial statements, working with the general accounting team.
  • Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of accounting policies, supported by the external reporting team, in monitoring areas of accounting development and assessing their impact on the compan
  • Support external reporting in preparing the annual 10-K, quarterly 10-Q, and other SEC filings, as needed.
  • Ensure all process narratives, flowcharts, and key controls applicable to corporate accounting are documented and maintained.  Works with internal audit to ensure timely and adequate testing in support of SOX 404 requirements.
  • Works cross-functionally to drive the selection, implementation, and execution of all upgrades of financial systems and processes, ensuring we maximize our use of technology and streamlining operations that scale with our complex and fast-paced growth.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead annual external audit. You will serve as the primary interface to external auditors.
  • Support leadership by undertaking assignments on ad hoc reporting, projects, or other special initiatives as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience required; MBA Degree or equivalent experience preferred; CPA required
  • 15+ years of experience in Finance 8+in a leadership capacity.  Retail experience preferred
  • Operational accounting management experience, including overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
  • A track record of success in leading, managing, coaching and developing high-performance teams.
  • Developing best practices, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal and state tax code not appropriate at this level

Job Duty

  • Directs and manages corporate accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, consolidations, month end close activities, and financial statement preparation
  • Understand and implement new accounting pronouncements and regulatory updates.  Alert management to all current GAAP and SEC trends in reporting and compliance that apply to the Company.
  • Ensures GAAP and SOX compliance, as well as compliance with federal, state jurisdictions, and related regulations
  • Supports the Director of Financial Reporting in the preparation of the annual report and quarterly SEC 10-Q filings
  • Supports the Head of Internal Audit to ensure all narratives and control processes applicable to the Corporate Accounting Department are documented and appropriate.  Ensure all applicable processes are followed
  • Collaborates with I.T. and other stakeholders, including external consultants, to identify, coordinate and implement systems and process improvements with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and customer service
  • Liaison between external and internal auditors.
  • Assists with various accounting functions in problem resolution as needed or special projects assigned by the Corporate Controller or CFO

- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

 

- Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job.  Minimal travel may be required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education Level: (Required)      Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

                        (Preferred)      MBA Degree or equivalent experience               

 

Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Finance

CPA Required

15+ years of experience in Finance 8+in a leadership capacity.  Retail experience preferred.
