Summary

VP Business Operations

 

The Vice President of Business Operations serves as a strategic partner to Client Services and Business Development, aligning operational execution with business growth goals. This role leads cross-functional coordination for key initiatives such as special events, remodels, and client activations, while developing tools and reporting to support data-driven decision-making. The VP oversees internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging and effective delivery across multiple platforms. Additionally, they manage field readiness by facilitating training rollouts, resolving real-time operational issues, and addressing equipment and staffing gaps. The role also includes oversight of vendor relationships to control costs and maintain service quality, and collaboration with the Safety Team to evaluate performance, identify risks, and implement corrective training.

Essential Responsbilities

 

  • Partner with Client Services/Business Development/Field Operations to build a sales strategy based on the business growth plans and field operations growth and feasibility. Coordinate between Client Services/Business Development and Field Operations special events, Client meetings, remodels, client celebrations, grand openings, and other promotional activities to ensure customer expectations can be met.
  • Manage communications internally and externally – associate comms, town halls, newsletters, website. Establish message and voice, audience and vehicle strategy and execute.
  • Facilitate the rollout of training initiatives from support centers and escalate areas of deficiency where additional support or intervention is required.
  • Identifies and escalates field challenges to Client Services and Business Development to drive continuous improvement in execution. Build reporting and/or dashboards used by Client Services/Business Development and field operations leadership.
  • Evaluates and monitors operational safety performance in collaboration with the Safety Team; shares reports and trends, identifies gaps, and establishes targeted safety training procedures based on findings. Resolves real-time operational issues, including sales and staffing gaps, while proactively managing equipment logistics and addressing shortages to ensure seamless field execution.
  • Manages supply vendors to optimize costs while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and service standards.

- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

- Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job 

- Travel up to 50%

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required)      Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

                                          

- 10+ years of experience in retail field operations

- 10+ years successfully managing a P&L, budgeting and forecasting, and managing client expectations either personally or through a team

 

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

 

  • Strategic Leadership; Collaborative Partnership- Builds strong relationships with Client Services and Field Operations to align business growth plans with field execution through effective planning and cross-functional coordination.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making – Develops and uses dashboards and reports to guide business, operational decisions, and detect trends.
  • Systems and Process Improvement – Ability to identify system enhancement opportunities to improve efficiency and team performance.

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
