This strategic leader is responsible for driving actionable insights that accelerate ADV’s performance, optimize client ROI, and inform enterprise-wide decision-making. This role leads ADV’s Strategic Insights & Performance Analytics function, partnering cross-functionally and across the enterprise to translate complex data into clear business strategies for clients, customers, and internal stakeholders. This strategic position goes beyond traditional insight discovery, focusing on activating our rich data and analytics into the market.

 

You will partner closely with Advantage executives and commercial leadership across segments to align data-driven insights and strategies with key business goals, ensuring offerings deliver maximum value and strengthen customer and client relationships.

 

This role will own and guide performance analytics & insights to drive performance tracking and insight generation for the commercial organization across segments, including performance reporting, business development insights, omnichannel engagement activities, c-suite analytics, etc. In addition, this role will guide vast majority of our market research and shopper insight efforts, embedding these as part of our thought leadership strategy with clients and customers.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development and execution of business and market performance analytic strategies aligned with client and corporate objectives.
    • Drive agile delivery of insights to respond to market shifts, innovate to lead, and meet evolving client priorities while optimizing the effectiveness of insights programs to maximize client ROI and long-term impact.
    • Serve as a thought partner to ADV and clients senior leadership, providing insights that influence tactical execution and strategic direction
    • Actively shape business-critical strategies and playing a key role in the development and execution of strategic projects that advance the global analytics & insights goals
    • Oversee the design and execution of shopper research programs to understand behaviors, motivations, and expectations, translating insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, merchandising, and commercial teams.
    • Lead the analysis of brands performance to identify growth opportunities, focused on existing as well as new clients.
    • Forge strong partnerships with commercial leadership to ensure insights strategy delivers against segment objectives and oversee the development of insightful content, industry trends, and research to enhance ADV’s thought leadership.
    • Lead and grow a team of insights leads to curate and deliver forward-looking strategic sales and business storytelling that aligns with Advantages’s business objectives and customer needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (BS or BA) Degree in Marketing, Math, Statistics, or Economic fields or equivalent job-related experience required; MBA, MS or relevant work experience preferred
  • 10+ years in CPG , Retailer, or Grocery brokerage organization
  • 5-10 years successfully managing client expectations either personally or through a team
  • 10+ years managing direct reports; reporting directly to VP or C-level executive
  • Strategic Analytical Acumen, with outstanding understanding of syndicated data and retail systems,
  • Proven success in leveraging data at scale to drive business performance and customer engagement.
  • Deep understanding of retail, CPG, or consumer behavior analytics.
  • Expertise in data visualization, predictive modeling, and ROI frameworks.
  • Exceptional communicator with executive presence and skilled at influencing and building strong relationships.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Drive, develop, and work to deliver Pitch and Account Strategy in partnership with Customer and Business Development Leaders
  • Drive Agency positioning to ensure storylines continue to evolve.
  • Thought Leadership through white papers, prominence, etc.
  • Partner with Planning and Insights team to ensure that all client and customer responses are squarely grounded in business and industry insights
  • Create Best Practices on Pitch, Account, and Customer Development responses
  • Partner with Business Development Leaders and internal business segments to drive integrated pitch responses
  • Actively develop thought leadership content and opportunities for the Division
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans which formally identify additional business opportunities and specific ways to strengthen our service delivery with our clients

Team Leadership

  • Responsible for cultivating an environment where proactive, creative, and best demonstrated knowledge sharing is de rigueur amongst team 
  • Lead, manage, coach, and hold accountable any direct reports to ensure highly effective and efficient processes and/or team collaboration
  • Oversee management of staff priorities, workload balancing/utilization, employee recognition/rewards, and routine staff professional development to keep turnover at a minimum and staff morale high

Client and Customer Management

  • Ensure all work product is delivered on-time, on-scope, and delivers measurable value that maximizes client satisfaction
  • Routinely nurture and cultivate key stakeholder relationships, ensuring they have proactive visibility to the capabilities, tools, and resources available to them across the Company enterprise.
  • Consistently and actively develop and nurture relationships with clients and customers, and respond to their needs through insight creation and delivery
  • Be an advocate of the RAVE process, working to reinforce the importance of value creation measurement with clients, customers, and associates

Achieve P&L Targets

  • Manage business unit resources to deliver EBIDTA objective

Forecasting

  • Ability to anticipate future market changes so that resources can be adjusted accordingly; including planning for new revenue growth as well as customer shifts/consolidations

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

  • Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job 
  • Travel up to 40%

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): B.A.|B.S. in marketing, math, statistics, or economic fields; MBA, MS or relevant work experience preferred

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

  • 10+ years in sales and marketing CPG or food brokerage organization
  • 5-10 years successfully managing a P&L, budgeting and forecasting, and managing client expectations either personally or through a team
  • 10+ years managing direct reports; reporting directly to VP or C-level executive
  • Experience in Brand Management, Customer Management, Category Management, and Shopper Marketing a plus
