Sr Specialist, Training Design
The Sr Specialist, Training Design is responsible for developing and implementing engaging learning and development materials that enhance learning and support effective knowledge transfer. This role collaborates with subject matter experts to design curricula and learning programs tailored to diverse audiences. By applying instructional design best practices and multimedia learning tools, the role ensures training content is accessible, effective, and aligned with company goals and expectations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Design instructional, engaging, and effective learning materials including curricula, multimedia presentations, interactive activities, job aids, playbooks, guides, instructor-led training, self-study materials, and eLearning courses
Leverage a variety of learning technologies and digital platforms to enhance learning experiences including virtual classrooms, scenario-based simulations, and guided learning through a learning management system
Create detailed curricula with clear, measurable learning objectives and ensure alignment between content and desired learning outcomes
Partner with training teammates and subject matter experts to ensure learning content accuracy, relevance, and completeness
With guidance, develop and manage project plans and timelines for learning materials
Maintain awareness of adult learning principles, instructional design methods, learning technologies, and industry best practices and apply continuous improvement to learning solutions
Assist with conducting needs assessments by analyzing company goals, learner characteristics, and knowledge gaps
Develop assessments, knowledge checks, and evaluation methods to measure learning effectiveness and learner progress
Review training materials regularly, gather feedback, analyze data, and revise content to improve learning impact
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
Indirect Reports: Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Instructional design degree or equivalent experience preferred)
Experience Requirements: 2–4 years experience in relevant field
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of adult learning principles and ability to apply those principles to learning outcomes
Solid project management skills
Basic understanding of learning evaluation and measurement concepts
Proficiency with instructional design, creative, and productivity software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, leaders, vendors, customers, and clients
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines accurately
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
